Door 13 is a San Diego–based hard rock band merging cinematic intensity with literary storytelling and modern cultural commentary. Formed in 2023, the band has quickly distinguished itself through explosive live performances and concept-driven songwriting that pushes beyond traditional genre boundaries.

Fronted by vocalist and lyricist Ashleigh Kennealy, Door 13 transforms classic literary and mythological narratives into heavy, emotionally charged anthems. On guitar, Alec Peterson crafts aggressive, textured riffs that balance precision with atmosphere. In 2026, Door 13 will release Unhinged, an EP that reclaims women throughout history who were labeled unstable, hysterical, or dangerous for challenging power structures. Drawing inspiration from Shakespeare’s Lady Macbeth, Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s The Yellow Wallpaper, and the Greek myth of Cassandra, the project reframes these figures not as warnings, but as voices ignored. The EP also includes modern-day anthems that connect these literary themes to contemporary conversations around ambition, visibility, and identity.

At its core, Unhinged asks a simple but powerful question: Who decides when a woman is “too much”? Through distortion-heavy guitars, driving percussion, and cinematic vocal delivery, Door 13 channels intensity as clarity rather than chaos. The result is music that feels visceral in performance and thoughtful in construction.

The band will debut five unreleased tracks live in February 2026 before rolling out singles throughout the year, culminating in the full EP release.
